i-Concept Initiatives is a civil society organisation, with expertise on agro ecological farming, capacity building, model creation, research and development, handholding community and community-based organisations. It is based on the primary decree that “development as a process is community planned, executed and monitored”. It needs consultative techno managerial hand holding facilitation support from different stakeholders for rational and effective use of resources available for its socio-economic upliftment. The group stems its strength from highly experienced development workers who have years of prior experience as individual and team workers at different hierarchical levels. The primary purpose of the organisation is to enhance the livelihood of small and marginal farmers and ensure the food and nutrition security for women and children. For small and marginal farmers, agriculture is the major livelihood source to support their families. Climate change poses a major challenge to them to sustain farming. Agro ecological approach with Integrated Farming System (IFS) has been successful to sustain the farm income during all cropping seasons. The IFS is an inter-dependent, inter-related production system based on crops, animals, and related subsidiary enterprises that maximises the utilisation of resources of each system, thereby minimising the negative effect on the environment.
