The aim of promotion of agroecological farming & climate resilient agriculture is to ensure the food security and biodiversity within the community. To achieve this vision, revival of local and landraces varieties of seeds always an important, because these seeds are acclimatised to the climate. To revive and promote the indigenous seeds system in Odisha i-Concept has established a Central Seed Bank in Maa Mati Campus. Which is focused on Collection, Conservation, Demonstration, Production, Replication and Promotion of Indigenous seeds through “Maa Mati Seed Bank”. These banks play a crucial role to link with seed custodian farmers for revival and production of seeds and also link with other farmers for replication of access to diverse, locally adapted seeds, especially those facing climate change impacts or limited access to external seed sources. They also safeguard traditional knowledge and practices associated with seed saving and crop management.
